This Privacy Policy explains what information LocalBoss collects, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to the LocalBoss platform, dashboard, and related services (the “Service”).
We collect the information needed to run the Service, keep your account secure, process payments, and let the Service perform the actions you request. We do not sell your personal information. Where we act as a processor for data you bring into the Service, we handle it on your instructions as described below.
Where data-protection laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, we process personal data on the following bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you signed up for), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service), consent (where required, which you may withdraw), and legal obligation.
We share information with service providers who help us operate the Service, under agreements that require them to protect it. We do not sell personal information. Our key sub-processors are:
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of LocalBoss and others. If we are involved in a merger or acquisition, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
When you use the Service to prospect and build sites, you may process information about businesses and individuals you did not obtain from us — for example public listing data and contact details. For that data, you act as the controller and LocalBoss acts as your processor. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and use it, for honoring the rights of those individuals, and for complying with applicable privacy and anti-spam laws. We process it only to provide the Service to you.
We use technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit, encryption at rest for connected-account credentials, access controls, and tenant isolation enforced at the database level. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account or specific data, we delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can manage much of your data directly in the dashboard, or contact us to exercise these rights. We will respond consistent with applicable law, and you may have the right to complain to a data-protection authority.
Our providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for these transfers.
We use essential cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We also use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager) to understand how the Service and our marketing pages are used. We do not currently run advertising or retargeting pixels; if we introduce them, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential storage may prevent you from signing in.
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
